WHAT MAKES THIS AREA UNIQUE?

Tracing the path of Loyalsock Creek through mossy, pine-studded Pennsylvania wilds, this trek is never lacking in beauty or challenges and you'll never go a day without passing a water source. Although the trail is lightly trafficked, you'll be delighted to discover the creativity trail maintainers put into the backcountry campsites! Whether you choose to photograph one of the creek's many waterfalls, dream beside a quiet pond or splash in the famous pools above The Haystacks (geologists will be interested to study the evidence of the great flood in these formations), the dancing waters along this trail are sure to inspire you!
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Deciduous and evergreen forest, waterfall, stream, pond, white-tailed deer, eagle, black bear, bobcat, coyote, porcupine, raccoon, snakes.

Day 1
Park your second car at Mead Road parking lot.
Drive to Worlds End Road parking lot.
Hike 2.4 miles to camp near stream at Loyalsock Canyon Vista Trail (mm 41.9)
Day 2
Hike 11.7 miles to camp near Sones Pond (mm 53.6). Many beautiful campsites here.
Day 2
Hike 3.6 miles to The Haystacks. Beautiful swimming holes here. Jump in and explore them!
Hike 2 miles to your car at Mead Road parking lot.
