WHAT MAKES THIS AREA UNIQUE?

If you're looking for a weekend loop that will lead to a beautiful vista (without requiring a chiropractic visit afterwards), this trail is perfect for you! Tracing railroad grades and old logging roads through green-tunnel State Game Land, the Old Loggers Path is rich in industrial history. Drink in the beautiful cascades and intriguing rock formations of Rock Run and feast your eyes on basin-valleys of autumn color from outstanding vistas along the way.

WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Deciduous and evergreen forest, waterfalls, white-tailed deer, eagle, black bear, bobcat, coyote, porcupine, raccoon, snakes.

 OLD LOGGERS PATH WEEKEND LOOP ITINERARY: 27.3 MILES

Day 1

Park your car at Masten Trailhead. Hike 6.4 miles to camp near Rock Run/Yellow Dog Run junction.

Day 2

Fill up with water at water crossing near Short Run, near Stream Road. Hike 12.7 miles to camp at Sharp Top Vista

Day 3

Hike 8.2 miles to arrive at your car at Masten Trailhead.
